“The report “Climate Change and Tourism: Responding to Global Challenges”, which was commissioned to a group of prominent researchers, encompasses the status of knowledge on the complex relationship between climate change and tourism. The publication notes the vulnerability of the sector to climate change and the impacts of tourism on climate itself. The report provides an excellent basis to address the global phenomenon of climate change, as well as to develop practical tools that can be used by tourism policy-makers and managers to foster the sustainable growth of the industry” [p.8]

The resource supports a number of SDG targets.
Adopting sustainable/responsible tourism supports SDG 8.9 (sustainable tourism), 11.7 (safe, inclusive and welcoming public and green spaces), 11.B (Disaster Risk Reduction) and 12.6 (adopt sustainable practices and reporting) and 12.7 (sustainable procurement).
Increasing economic benefits to small island developing states (SIDS) from tourism supports SDG 14.7.
