SDGs LINKAGES
The resource is focussed on adopting sustainable practices and sustainability reporting (SDG 12.6) and taking climate action (SDG 13.3). These are linked to SDGs 7.2 (uptake of renewable energy) and 7.3 (improving energy efficiency), and 9.4 (upgrading infrastructure to be sustainable), SDGs 12.2 (sustainable use of natural resources), 12.4 (managing wastes into the environment), 12.5 (reducing waste through prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling), and 12.7 (green procurement). Integrating climate change into policies, management and reporting also contributes to SDG 16.6 (‘Develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels’), SDG 16.10 (access to information and protecting fundamental rights and freedoms), and SDGs 16.B (policies that support sustainable development) and 17.14 (policy coherence for sustainable development.
Influencing climate action in society (pillar 4) supports SDGs 4.4 (staff training), 4.7 (Education for Sustainable Development), 12.8 (information for lifestyles in harmony with nature) and 13.3 (climate change education and awareness).
Supporting climate-positive projects through robust approaches to offsetting supports a number of SDG targets, including 15.A (mobilize financial resources to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems) and 15.B (mobilize resources for sustainable forest management, including in developing countries).
